The Pharmacy Council of India is a statutory body governed by the provisions also known as the central council constituted under the Pharmacy Act, 1948. It regulates the pharmacy education and profession in India & was constituted on 4th March 1948 under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act in order to provide the best education and best professionals to the fraternity of pharmacy. The Pharmacy Council of India is constituted by the central government every five years. They are based in New Delhi which is linked to the Ministry of Health-Services and Family-welfare. The key-objectives of the Pharmacy Council of India, are to regulate the pharmacy education, profession and the practice of pharmacy in the country for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act.
